I am so excited about the second half of our program and festival year! I hope you will all take advantage of the PPMTA opportunities that are important to you, whether this be continuing education as a teacher, student activity participation, collegial fellowship, or all of the above. I also encourage you to share what you love about our organization with colleagues who aren't yet members. YOU are our best referral source because you are the ones out in the community interacting with other musicians. We are enhanced by members, each in their own unique way, and new members bring new ideas and energy. MTNA recently reminded me of their six-month trial membership program and of the importance of reaching out to teachers of varied instruments. Our students deserve to be exposed to the widest range of instruments we can give them!
Please remember our upcoming program presentation at Graner Music on Tuesday,
January 10, 2017 by violin teacher, Margaret Pressley – “A Violin Teacher speaks about The Three Basic Learning Processes, and The Difference between Practicing Smart not Hard,” a topic that I'm sure will be applicable to all!
A reminder that the entry deadline for our spring Non-Competitive and Competitive Festivals is coming up quickly on February 1, 2017!
And finally, please access our Member’s Only tab on the PPMTA website and read about our newest members: Lois Spangenberg, Karen Wells, and Margaret Pressley. We look forward to welcoming them to our meetings! Happy New Year!
